ENERGY QUESTIONS  

There is a tremendous amount of information on the net about energy consumption and alternative energy sources. For many alternative systems, incorporation into your home is much easier during the initial cosntruction stage. Among the things you might want to consider:

• What do you want in a hot water system? Do you anticipate heavy or light usage? Do you want a solar heating system? If so, what size would fit your needs. (There is a "Special Projects" link for Solar Heating in this module.)

• What are the advantages and disadvantages to electrical and propane cooking? What are your preferences and how important are they?

• What are the alternative electrical power generation options and what are the advantages and disadvantages?
