The Physics 242 Puzzler

Consider the following peculiar parallel plate capacitor shown to the left. It has a dielectric of constant K (>1) that fills exactly half the space between the plates. Assume the empty half is a vacuum (K=1). A battery maintains a potential V between the conducting plates. Recall that a dielectric creates an induced internal electric field that opposes the applied field.

Consider how the charge on the plates is distributed. Is the charge distribution on the dielectric side greater, the same, or less than on the side without the dielectric? Be sure to defend your answer!!
