The SCI 301 Puzzler

The Sunnyside PV company sells "motorized" photovoltaic panels. These panels are mounted on a pivot and can rotate from the east to the west. The motor and drive mechanism are controlled by a clock that makes sure the solar panel is facing directly at the sun from sunrise to sunset. The advertisement states that

"Since our panels always face directly at the sun, they will produce power all day at the same rate as at high noon!"

Assume that the system does keep the panel facing directly at the sun all day. Do you think their advertisement is accurate? Explain why or why not.
