The SCI 301 Puzzler

Consider the circuit below. The light bulbs have the same resistance R and the batteries produce the same potential V.

Answer the following questions:

  1. Compare the brightness of the two light bulbs while the switch is open.
  2. Compare the brightness of each bulb after the switch is closed. Be sure to relate the brightness of each to that found before the switch was closed.
