Central Stores authorizes the storage and disposal of surplus and damaged University equipment and furniture.  Surplus University equipment and furniture are disposed of or re-circulated through the University.  Employees are not allowed to dispose of or remove University equipment or furniture without the authorization of Central Stores.

Physical Plant removes surplus and damaged University equipment and furniture from departments and transports them to Central Stores.  The department requesting items to be taken to Central Stores must have first obtained authorization from Central Stores to receive the items.

To obtain the service of Central Stores and Physical Plant, a Building & Grounds Supply & Repair Requisition form must be completed and given to each department detailing the task to be performed.  Forms may be obtained in the Division Office (S208; x1230).  The following information must be included on the request form (if available):
NOTE 1: BEFORE CONTACTING CENTRAL STORES OR PHYSICAL PLANT, ATTEMPT TO RECIRCULATE SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE IN-HOUSE.  FOR EXAMPLE, EMAIL ALL SCIENCE & MATHEMATICS FACULTY AND STAFF DETAILING THE ITEM(S) TO BE DISCARDED.  REQUEST THAT INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN OBTAINING THE ITEM(S) CONTACT YOU BY A SPECIFIC DATE TO GET THE ITEM.

NOTE 2: IF YOU MOVE EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE, NEVER BLOCK AN EXIT. ALSO, AISLES AND HALLWAYS MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AND UNOBSTRUCTED.
