Central Stores authorizes the storage and disposal of surplus
and damaged University equipment and furniture. Surplus University
equipment and furniture are disposed of or re-circulated through the University.
Employees are not allowed to dispose of or remove University equipment
or furniture without the authorization of Central Stores.

Physical Plant removes surplus and damaged University equipment
and furniture from departments and transports them to Central Stores.
The department requesting items to be taken to Central Stores must have
first obtained authorization from Central Stores to receive the items.

To obtain the service of Central Stores and Physical Plant,
a Building & Grounds Supply & Repair Requisition
form must be completed and given to each department detailing the task
to be performed. Forms may be obtained in the Division Office (S208;
x1230). The following information must be included on the request
form (if available):

Description of the item(s) to be removed

UVI tag number(s) on item(s)

Model number(s)
-
Serial number(s)
-
Location of item(s) [building and room number]

Contact person (faculty and staff member)

Condition of item (i.e., damaged, not damaged, or don't know if damaged)
NOTE 1: BEFORE CONTACTING CENTRAL STORES
OR PHYSICAL PLANT, ATTEMPT TO RECIRCULATE SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE
IN-HOUSE. FOR EXAMPLE, EMAIL ALL SCIENCE & MATHEMATICS FACULTY
AND STAFF DETAILING THE ITEM(S) TO BE DISCARDED. REQUEST THAT INDIVIDUALS
INTERESTED IN OBTAINING THE ITEM(S) CONTACT YOU BY A SPECIFIC DATE TO GET
THE ITEM.
NOTE 2: IF
YOU MOVE EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE, NEVER BLOCK AN EXIT. ALSO, AISLES AND
HALLWAYS MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AND UNOBSTRUCTED.
