New UVI Website to Go Live on Saturday, Aug. 17

Members of the UVI Community on St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John were treated to a special preview of UVI's new website on Monday, Aug. 12. The site is scheduled to "go live" on the Internet on Saturday, Aug. 17. UVI Webmaster Moneca Pinkett provided an extensive preview to the new site, which features a fresh, modern look and feel, revised and expanded content, and improved navigation. Participants also had the chance to use smart phones and tablets to personally view the new site’s responsive design feature, which automatically resizes site content to match the viewer’s screen size. The new site is the result of a year-long effort by the UVI Website Committee, with input from numerous individuals representing all areas of the University. The website address remains www.uvi.edu.

Externally Hosted UVI Microsites Now Available

Discounted rates for responsive, interactive websites hosted on UVI’s new web servers are available for UVI affiliated offices and centers. UVI affiliated websites (also known as subdomains) may feature their own customized look and feel. The Cascade Server content management system (CMS), which the new UVI website uses, is available for easy updates. Persons interested in taking advantage of UVI microsites are invited to information sessions scheduled for 4 p.m. on Aug. 20, and 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 6. To participate, register online with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL).
