Reggae Fusion Legend Maxi Priest Performs at UVI’s Reichhold Center May 24

International reggae fusion legend Maxi Priest performs live at UVI’s Reichhold Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 24. Priest, who is British born of Jamaican descent, is one of the first international successes in that genre. His song “Close to You” went to number one on American Billboard charts and a duet with Roberta Flack, "Set the Night to Music," reached the American Top Ten. Priest continues to perform for adoring fans at sold-out concerts worldwide. Opening the show will be the Virgin Islands’ own Elva Escobar.

Tickets – at $65, $50 and $40 – are available from the Reichhold Box Office and by calling (340) 693-1559. Fans will also have a chance to speak with Maxi Priest in person during a “meet-and-greet” session hosted by the Natural Livity cultural store on Main Street in Charlotte Amalie beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 23.
