Individuals interested in learning how to use a computer can take advantage of a Basic Computing course being offered by the University of the Virgin Islands - Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center. This course is ideal for individuals with little or no computer experience. Classes will be held 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays beginning August 10, 2013 at the UVICELL Center on St. Thomas.
Basic Computing is designed to help individuals overcome their fear of computers and will help them become better acquainted with technology. Participants will learn the essentials of computing such as basic computer concepts, using a keyboard and mouse, moving around the desktop, managing files, surfing the internet and using email. The information will be presented in an easy to understand format and includes hands-on exercises.
