HONOR SOCIETIES
    THE ALPHA MU GAMMA NATIONAL COLLEGIATE FOREIGN LANGUAGE HONOR SOCIETY
  • The Alpha Mu Gamma National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society recognizes achievement of students in the field of foreign language study. It also seeks to stimulate in students a desire for linguistic attainment, a continuing interest in the study of foreign languages, literature and civilizations, and to foster sympathetic understanding of other peoples and international friendships.
  • The Mu Pi Chapter of the University of the Virgin Islands became the 304th chapter in November 1997. Since then it has held induction ceremonies every year for students of French and Spanish.
  • The 6th induction ceremony of Mu Pi Chapter was held on April 6, 2003, where 9 students were inducted. At the ceremony students recited poetry of Jacques Prévert, Rubén Darío and José Martí. Students also listened to presentations on the Yoruba and Chinese languages. The key note speaker was Dr. Gilbert Sprauve.
