As a result of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the University’s Registrar’s Office has extended the add/ drop period, until Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. Students with questions are asked to send an email to registrar@uvi.edu. Students who wish to withdraw from classes must do so before Oct. 13, 2017. UVI Classes In Session this Evening on Both Campuses

Classes will take place this evening on both UVI campuses as scheduled. Libraries and computer labs will close at 8 p.m.

At 2 p.m. today Tropical Storm Erika was about 80 miles south of St. Croix, moving toward the west at about 9 miles per hour . The weather associated with Erika is expected to move through the Leeward Islands today and approach the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico this evening. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles per hour with higher gusts. Heavy rain is expected by 8 p.m. A total rainfall accumulation is expected to be between 3 and 8 inches.

Updates with regard to the scheduling of morning classes will be provided via commercial radio broadcasts, e-mail and the UVI Emergency hotlines at 693-1016 on St. Thomas and 692-4168 on St. Croix.
