Curriculum Changes in Nursing Programs

Two changes were approved at the April, 2008 meeting of the Division of Nursing Education which will impact new students in the programs:

ASN Program:  The cumulative grade point average (GPA) required for entry into the Associate of Science in Nursing Program has been increased to 2.5 beginning in the Fall, 2008.  Students with matriculation dates prior to Fall, 2008, will not be subject to the new requirement.  This change was made to help meet new accreditation requirements.

BSN Completion Program:  The RN-to-BSN advanced placement track has eliminated the requirement for challenge exams for registered nurses who have passed the NCLEX-RN Exam in order to facilitate articulation into the program.  BSN Completion students will still have to meet the other general education requirements for the degree.
