UVI Faculty Members Serve as NCLEX-RN Item Writers

Two of the members of the St. Croix nursing faculty were selected as item writers by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing during 2007.  In May, Prof. Kathy Sheats traveled to Chicago to the offices of Pearson VUE and served from May 22nd-25th.  Prof. Karen Cooper was also selected and served on a different item-writing panel October 23-26, 2007.

Both Prof. Sheats and Prof. Cooper teach medical-surgical nursing at UVI.  Their selection by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing is a source of pride and indicative of their commitment to the nursing profession.  The Virgin Islands Board of Nurse Licensure was also involved in their approval for participation on the item-writing panels.
