Students From the Pacific Northwest Enjoy St. Croix Nursing

Just ask Lauren Thoen (center) how hard she tried to find a nursing school without a waiting list.  She'll tell you she searched all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond before she came across the UVI Associate Degree Nursing Program on St. Croix.  She wanted to get into an RN program so much that she came all the way from Portland, Oregon, to attend UVI.  Jeanne Ebuen (left) and Jeff Nelsen (right) tell a similar story.  They were all students at Portland Community College, where only 10% of the applicants get into the program by way of a lottery.  Lauren and Jeanne started the clinical nursing sequence last year and are scheduled to graduate in May.  They have been great ambassadors for the Program and offer to "chat" online with students interested in studying at UVI.  Jeff just arrived in August and is in the first year of clinical nursing.
