UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS
FAMILY ENDOWMENT SOCIETY
Each day brings new challenges for which UVI must equip its students and the community with knowledge, skills, and spirit. Through your generous gifts you create a better tomorrow for all of us in the Virgin Islands.
Ensuring the Future
By becoming a member of the University of the Virgin Islands Family Endowment Society, you join a cadre of committed leaders who share a vision of preparing students for lives of learning, leadership, and service. The financial support that you, as a UVI Family Endowment Society member, bring to the University is only the beginning of your influence. While you are enhancing the academic environment for the student, you are also creating opportunities for faculty and staff to achieve higher levels of academic excellence and service. In addition, you are investing in the economic development of our Territory. Your generosity will inspire others to raise their own sights and follow your example. Finally, you are creating a legacy that will honor your family for years to come.
The University of the Virgin Islands Family Endowment Society is being established as an enhancement of the Annual Giving Fund and honors donors who recognize that supporting the partnership of both restricted and unrestricted academic needs well serves the University. Many donors know the importance of designating their gifts in support of particular academic programs. Fewer donors know that numerous worthy educational opportunities go wanting each year because of the lack of unrestricted funds. Your gifts through the Family Endowment Society will help fulfill both these funding needs. You can be confident that your gifts will have an impact for years to come.
UVI Family Endowment Society Membership
Membership in the Family Endowment Society is open to all alumni and friends of the University who would like to establish an endowment in honor of their family or in memory of a family member. Membership will be accorded all individuals and families who establish an endowment with the University (minimum amount to establish an endowment is $10,000). The endowment will support a particular academic area, a scholarship, a fund to support visiting professors, or the President's Unrestricted Fund, which meets funding challenges as they arise throughout the academic year.
Recognition of UVI Family Endowment Society Members
UVI Family Endowment Society members are among the University's most important and generous supporters. Donors will be recognized in special ways for their outstanding generosity:
- UVI Family Endowment Society members are members of the annual UVI Partners giving circle and will be special guests at all Partners events.
- Family Endowment Society members will receive special invitations to exclusive events including the President's/Trustees' Dinner.
