Assure access to opportunity through scholarship assistance to deserving students so that they can turn their knowledge into future economic value for our Islands. Intensify the teaching and learning environment by maintaining and modernizing campus facilities so that students can live and study in surroundings conducive to learning.

Encourage excellence by providing funding to purchase books, periodicals, and on-line resources for the library, and by enhancing campus-wide and distance learning via computers and educational technology for students and the community as a whole. Bolster academic programs through new program opportunities, faculty development and visiting scholars, and by providing dollars to leverage federal and private foundation grants. Strengthen regional programs that position the University and the Virgin Islands as leaders in improving the economic and educational opportunities for this region.

Contributions from generous supporters who find a way to give every year enable the University to make great strides toward excellence in every area and discipline. Unlike most universities on the US mainland, UVI is charged with functioning both as a community college and as a university. This dual function has provided many challenges. As the University of the Virgin Islands pursues these challenges, resources must be replenished to keep up the pace.

Initiated in 2000, the University of the Virgin Islands Partners Program recognizes the University's most generous Annual Giving Fund supporters. Membership will be accorded all individuals whose annual gifts total $10,000 or greater, which support either a particular academic area or provide unrestricted funds. Recognition of University of the Virgin Islands Partners

University of the Virgin Islands Partners are among the University's most generous Annual Giving Fund supporters. Donors will be recognized in special ways for their outstanding generosity and will receive:

Special invitations to exclusive events including a "Dinner with the President and Trustees". Opportunities to participate in a variety of educational experiences each year including selected faculty, student, and guest lectures; performances; concerts; and art exhibitions, on campus and elsewhere. Annual reports from the President. Selected UVI publications and mementoes. University Partners names will be listed in the President's Honor Roll of Donors Report. University Partners may be selected for recognition in UVI publications.

The "Circles"

The various Annual Fund giving clubs or circles recognize major donors who enable the University to offer the highest levels of teaching, research, and service. Recognition is awarded for the year in which a $200 or larger gift is received. Membership represents exceptional devotion to the goal of academic advancement for the University.
