Deciding to further your education beyond high school is one of the most important decisions that you can make. Financing the cost of such an education can be difficult, but through a variety of financial aid programs at the University of the Virgin Islands, the University endeavors to assist deserving students in obtaining a college education.
The University of the Virgin Islands offers associate in arts degree (accounting, agriculture, business management, hotel and restaurant management, office systems, police science administration), associate in science (computer science and nursing), bachelor of arts (accounting, biology, business administration, Caribbean studies, chemistry, elementary education, English, humanities, marine biology, mathematics, music education, psychology, Spanish, social sciences, social work, speech, communication, and theater and vocational education) and bachelor of science (biology, chemistry with physics and nursing) and master of arts in education, master of business administration, master of public administration, master of mathematics for secondary teachers, and master of marine and environmental sciences.
Additionally, the University offers a Legal Assistant Certificate Program and special evening and extension programs through the Office of Continuing Education for those who seek increased personal, social or professional development.
The University of the Virgin Islands, which was chartered in 1962, is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The associate and bachelor programs in nursing education are accredited by the National League for Nursing.
