The inauguration took place in UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts before an enthusiastic crowd of friends, colleagues and well wishers. Thousands more throughout the Virgin Islands watched the installation live on Public Television - WTJX-TV. A week of celebratory activities preceded the inaugural ceremonies. These included Afternoon on the Green, receptions on St. Croix and St. John, displays of Virgin Islands art, receptions for students, alumni, faculty and staff, a public forum on V.I. political status and a faculty colloquium.
