Trust Asset Management and UVI Partner
in Support of Science & Math Education

Trust Asset Management LLP, a global investment management services company based on St. Thomas, has made a $100,000 donation to the Virgin Islands Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (VI-EPSCoR). This donation, which represents the second year of a $335,000 multi-year commitment, will support the VI-EPSCoR science and mathematics research and education program hosted by the University of the Virgin Islands.

In the first year, Trust Asset Management's VI-EPSCoR donation supported key outreach activities related to strengthening K-12 science and mathematics education in the territory.

"I'm delighted to be able to enhance the learning opportunities of young people in the territory," said S. Donald Sussman, the chairman of Trust Asset Management LLP. "It's especially rewarding to know that, working together, UVI and Trust Asset Management are capable of changing the way our future leaders view the world and their part in it."

The Trust Asset Management donation is also supporting the efforts of the Virgin Islands Department of Education and the University to forge closer bonds in support of K-12 education, through the use of videoconferencing and "smart classroom" tools linking the territory's schools and the University.

"The territory's young people are realizing the benefits of Mr. Sussman's demonstrated interest in science and mathematics," UVI President LaVerne E. Ragster said. "This contribution from Trust Asset Management is also a very important vote of confidence in the University's ability to deliver the types of educational and research opportunities that shape minds and build futures."

In the coming year, Trust Asset Management's donation will continue to support VI-EPSCoR outreach activities, to strengthen K-12 science and mathematics education in the territory, and to provide K-12 students with opportunities to engage in hands-on research. It will also support educational outreach activities linking UVI faculty and students with the Department of Education.
