Five students from the University of the Virgin Islands St. Thomas campus will be featured in the 2008 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. The students have been selected as national outstanding campus leaders based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

The students are nursing major Jahtara Francis, psychology major Aisha-Jamila Mussington, business administration major Athalia Edwards and accounting majors Ucilla Leah Austrie and Cathandra Yolanda Martin.

Students who receive this honor will be featured in a distinguished biographical volume that honors the nation's most noteworthy students and will receive certificates at UVI's annual Academic Awards Ceremony. Their names will also be automatically entered into a scholarship drawing.

In 1934 the Who's Who program was created by Pettus Randall, which does not require dues or fees that had previously prevented Randall from accepting honors. The five UVI students join an elite group of more that 2,300 institutions of higher learning.
