Accreditation

The University of the Virgin Islands is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (VISIT THE CHE WEB SITE FOR CURRENT DETAILS) of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, Phone: 215-662-5606. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation.

UVI Receives Reaffirmation of Accreditation Through 2017

At its session on November 15, 2007, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education acted to reaffirm accreditation for the University of the Virgin Islands until the year 2017, with follow-up. CLICK HERE TO READ A NEWS RELEASE.

As part of the accreditation reaffirmation process, UVI was required to conduct a self-study. The results of that self-study were presented to the Middle States Commission on Dec. 31, 2006. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS UVI's SELF-STUDY WEB SITE. Following the self-study and report, an evaluation team visited the University of the Virgin Islands on April 21 through 24, 2007.
