Hurricane Season PreparednessHurricane Season in the Caribbean extends from June 1 through November 30. August and September are considered the height of the season. Hurricanes are tropical cyclones with maximum sustained surface winds of 74 miles per hour or greater. Hurricane preparations constitute an on-going task for residents of the Virgin Islands and the effort is taken seriously at the University.
