“The mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is to facilitate sponsored program activities by increasing awareness and competiveness in the pursuit of external funding”.

OSP assists all members of the University community in their efforts to seek out and secure external awards for programs of research, scholarly and creative activities, education and training, and public service; and to support faculty and staff in their efforts to manage external award funds effectively and prudently, in order to ensure that all Sponsor and University commitments and expectations are met. We also serve as the point of contact for a variety of customer groups, including sponsors, other UVI research units, faculty, and department staff.

OSP is the home of UVI Title III, Part B—Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) program funded by the U.S. Department of Education, which has partnered with the University of the Virgin Islands to implement several projects that serve to strengthen the Institution.
