Animal Science - Live Stock guard Dogs

Livestock guard dogs are used to protect the sheep flock from predators.  The main predator we have in the VI is stray dogs, but we have had cases of two-legged predators as well.  Since we got the first dog in 2001 we have not had a single incident of predation or theft.  We have Pyrenees and Anatolian x Pyrenees crossbred dogs on the farm now.
