UVI fans cheer on their Buccaneers during a varsity basketball game in the Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas campus. The University of the Virgin Islands maintains active varsity, intramural and club sports programs that emphasizes student development and leadership through sports competition, physical fitness and the development of recreational skills that enrich life after leaving the University.

The Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas campus features over 64,000 square feet and seats up to 3,500, depending on the event.

The St. Thomas campus also has a golf course, tennis courts, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and baseball and soccer fields. The University also has beautiful Brewers Bay Beach on campus for swimming and water sports.

On the St. Croix campus, the outdoor sports facility is equipped with a basketball/volleyball court and tennis courts. Students compete in basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, tennis, volleyball, cross country, swimming and soccer. The St. Croix campus also features the new, 900-square-foot Bucs Fitness Club which was opened in late 2007.
