The Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (CELL) Center focuses on providing innovative programs for seasoned professionals to enhance their capabilities. Whether seeking a new career opportunity or advancement in your current career, CELL can provide the skills and knowledge you need. Programs are conveniently offered in the evenings and on weekends for busy adults.

CELL also offers certification programs aimed at providing an opportunity to achieve professional designations in particular fields. Courses offered by CELL can help fulfill your needs for certificate, certification, and professional continuing education units (CEUs). Programs include:

American Management Association (AMA) Certificate Programs
The University of the Virgin Islands has partnered with the American Management Association (AMA), the most recognized name in management training, to provide you with the means to acquire management skills that translate into productivity and career growth and afford you the opportunity to gain widely recognized credentials.

Intro to Bookkeeping
Do you want to attain a full-charge bookkeeping position, but need the skills necessary to secure such a position?  Here's your opportunity to learn the basics of bookkeeping such as journals, ledgers, trial balance, financial statements, adjustments, and end-of-period operations.  You will also acquire knowledge on the accounting cycle along with accounting for cash, payroll accounting, and setting up books using bookkeeping software.  Emphasis will be placed on procedure rather than theory.

Participants also receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion of each course.

Successful Project Management
This practical course gives you a performance edge by teaching you how to initiate, plan, control and complete your projects more effectively.  Learn the practical skills, concepts and principles needed to use on the job-along with insights to adapt to specific project environments.

Project Management Exam Review
This course provides an in-depth overview of the concepts and principles of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®).  Obtain the knowledge you need to increase your chances of passing the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam.

Law & Paralegal Studies

Legal Assistant National Certification Examination Review Course
Are you a paralegal and want to upgrade your skills? This course will do just that. It will provide a review of all the major substantive and practical/skills subject matter as provided by the Certified Legal Assistant National Exam Review materials. You will learn how to assist trial attorneys, interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation. Classes meet 5 hours per week for 8 weeks and include mock testing, guest lecturers and independent study group sessions.
