Science and Mathematics alumni work in a wide variety of positions. They include Dr. Henry Smith, UVI Vice Provost for Research and Public Service; Dr. Velma Tyson, UVI Professor of Mathematics; and Mr. Eric Douglas, UVI Coordinator of Process Technology. Alumni hold positions as teachers, physicians, public health professionals, lawyers, pharmacists, natural resources managers, IT professionals, and research scientists in government and industry. Alumni are college professors at universities including Albany State, Morehouse College, Hampton University, and the U.S. Naval Academy.
Alumni Spotlight!
Christopher Jeffrey earned a BS in marine biology from the University of the Virgin Islands. He went on to earn a masters and a PhD from the University of Georgia. He is a coral reef ecologist conducting research in the US Virgin Islands and elsewhere for NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration).
