PHY 211 - Introduction to Physics I:
PHY 211 - Introduction to Physics I is the first course in the non-calculus based PHY 211/212 sequence. It provides an introduction to mechanics, heat, and sound. It is designed as a terminal sequence for non-physical science majors. There are three 1-hour lectures, one 1-hour tutorial and one 3-hour lab each week. Prerequisite: MAT 142.

PHY 212 - Introduction to Physics II is the second course in the non-calculus based PHY 211/212 sequence. It provides an introduction to electricity, magnetism, optics and selected topics in Modern Physics. It is designed as a terminal sequence for non-physical science majors. There are three 1-hour lectures, one 1-hour tutorial and one 3-hour lab each week. Prerequisite: PHY 211.

PHY 241 General Physics I is the first course in the calculus-based PHY 241/242 sequence. It provides an introduction to mechanics, heat, and sound. It is designed for majors in physics, chemistry, mathematics and engineering. There are four 1-hour lectures, one 1-hour tutorial and one 3-hour lab each week. Prerequisite: MAT 241. Co-requisite: MAT 242.
