The College of Science & Mathematics emphasizes the use of technology and interdisciplinary innovation in instruction. A campus-wide information system connects UVI computer systems to databases and advanced computational support in the region and the world through the Internet. Through Asynchronous Distance Learning (ADL), students in different time zones or on independent schedules take UVI courses via the Internet. Distance learning is also implemented using video conferencing facilities located on the islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix.
