The South East Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (SEAGEP) unites a group of institutions that have considerable experience in higher education diversity programs, a history of collaboration, and together have enormous capacity with respect to both opportunities for graduate studies as well as large numbers of undergraduate students in technical fields.
The SEAGEP Program includes the University of Florida (UFL), Clemson University (CU), University of South Carolina (USC), Florida-Georgia Louis B. Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP), South Carolina Louis B. Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (SCAMP), and University of the Virgin Islands. SEAGEP also provides international opportunities for students through a collaboration with the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI).
Mission
SEAGEP is committed to enhancing the graduate education experience for students in STEM who are preparing for careers in academia.
Goals
This vision of SEAGEP is to develop a more inclusive, skilled, and versatile technical talent pool to strengthen the diversity of the nation's workforce, particularly academia, thereby contributing to the fields that are critical to the nation's economic strength, national security, and quality of life.
