Chief Information Officer
The position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible to articulate, develop and implement UVI's strategy for information and communication technologies to position and support the administrative, academic, research, business and community strategies of the University.
The Chief Information Officer will guide and promote change, develop campus-wide information technology and campus library standards, facilitate access and information sharing and ensure the optimum use of resources to maintain excellence of operations.
The CIO reports directly to the President. The position is accountable for providing the managerial and technological leadership for the University's Information and Technology Services which includes the libraries, distance learning, and learning and classroom environment.
The CIO identifies and communicated the technology implications for the strategic plan and anticipates change and emerging trends in information technology, library science and communication as they apply to the mission and goals of the University. The CIO serves on the Executive Cabinet as well as the Strategic Planning Steering Committee and other committees as appropriate.
