ENERGY ASSESSMENT TRAINING OFFERED ON ST. CROIX
In an effort to assist the territory with energy efficiency and renewable energy project planning and development, the University of the Virgin Islands’ – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will be offering an Energy Assessment Training to residents of St. Croix.
The training was developed by NREL in partnership with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program will be held 8 am – 5 pm from June 4 – 6, 2012. The three-day workshop will be held at the Division of Personnel Conference Room in Estate Orange Grove on St. Croix.
The Energy Assessment Training will provide state-of-the-art assessment techniques using standardized analysis and assessment tools. Upon completion of the course, trainees will have the knowledge and resources needed to conduct comprehensive energy assessments. Participants will learn how to identify energy savings and renewable energy opportunities; analyze buildings and calculate energy saving opportunities and implement energy saving and renewable energy opportunities.
The training is ideal for energy managers, facility managers, resource efficiency managers (REMs), building engineers, HVAC technicians, electricians and programmatic energy staff. For more information on the training, call 692-4230.
