Dr. Eustace Esdaille is tenured Professor of Accounting and  Chair of Accounting, Finance and Computer Information Systems at the University of the Virgin Islands.  His professional experience spans several decades and countries in the Caribbean and North America.

His professional career began in his native country of St. Kitts and Nevis as high school teacher and then Principal of the largest high school there, a position he held for seven years.  He subsequently worked for five years  in the Turks and Caicos Islands Education Department  rising to fill  the top  spot as Chief Education Officer responsible for  administration of the entire education system  in the territory. While working as an educator in the Caribbean, he contributed to the formulation and administration of the Caribbean Examinations Council and was a ten-year foundation Council member of the organization.

After completing his postgraduate studies in business, he worked at a small Chicago corporation as Operations Manager for five years before accepting a position as Chair of Business Administration at Seattle’s Griffin College. After four years at Griffin College, he accepted an offer to serve as Associate Dean of Business at North Seattle Community College.  At the end of a five-year term at North Seattle Community College, he returned to the Caribbean as Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of the Virgin Islands where he has remained since 1999. He was promoted to Professor of accounting in 2004. At UVI, he has held several positions including Chair of Business Administration and Dean of Business.

His professional interests and expertise lie in accounting, tax, cost management, budgeting and internal auditing, and accounting information systems.  He holds the CPA and is licensed to practice accounting in the United States Virgin Islands.

Dr. Esdaille was educated at the following institutions:  the University of the West Indies  BA (Hons) degree in English; the University of Illinois at Chicago , MBA (Accounting and Finance); Florida Atlantic University, Masters degree in Taxation (M.Tax); and the University of Washington, Seattle, PhD (Leadership and Policy).
