College of Science & Mathematics

Undergraduate Academic Programs

The UVI College of Science and Mathematics offers Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Associate of Science (A.S.), Bachelors of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees and Masters degrees.  The B.S. programs are strongly concentrated in the sciences, while the B.A. programs offer a broader liberal arts emphasis.

The College offers dual degree engineering programs affiliated with Columbia University, University of Washington at St. Louis, University of Florida, and University of South Carolina.  Students completing this program receive a degree in applied mathematics from UVI and a degree in engineering from the affiliated university.

The College also offers strong faculty guidance for those students who will later seek admission to a medical school, along with a special Early Medical School Selection Program affiliated with Boston University.

In 2002, The College of Science and Mathematics, in collaboration with HOVENSA Refinery, established a two-year Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Process Technology.  A variety of instructional classes and research internships are offered at both the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses.
