UVI RTPark Expands Global Footprint Through Partnership with International Accelerator, Brinc

The UVI Research and Technology Park (RTPark) announced on Tuesday its cross-promotion partnership with Brinc, an internationally recognized technology accelerator program, in an effort to build a global network of support for RTPark clients to tap into and expose international tech firms to the benefits and opportunities available in the Territory. The partnership with Brinc represents the RTPark’s first win to emerge from their East Asia trade mission this past March. read more

UVI 2019 Fall Semester Orientation Set for Aug. 13-18

The University of the Virgin Islands will welcome new and transfer students with a week of orientation activities beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13, on both the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix and the St. Thomas Campus. Orientation activities will kick-off with residence hall check-in. All newly accepted students are required to participate in orientation activities prior to the start of the semester. read more

UVI Cybersecurity Workshop Prepares Students To Become Cyber Defenders

For two weeks, future computer science professionals learned the skills they will need to be on the frontlines of cyber based attacks. In a world where technology is quickly advancing before our very eyes, the risk of facing cyberattacks has drastically increased. Acknowledging this growing issue, the Computer Science Department at the University of the Virgin Islands, held a cybersecurity workshop, offered by guest lecturer Dr. Michel Kinsy of Boston University. read more

RTPark Partners with National Development Council to Expand Economic Development Opportunities in the Territory

The UVI Research and Technology Park (RTPark) announced on Monday that is has entered into a technical assistance contract with the National Development Council (NDC) to support, develop, and assist in the implementation of economic and community development programs, and also to prepare proposals to access the dollars necessary to expand access to capital for technology-based firms, as well as other businesses and projects that would strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the U.S. Virgin Islands. read more

UVI Board of Trustees Approves MA in Social Work, Bachelor in Fine Arts & MOUs with TAMCC, SALCC & the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States

In the regular session of its quarterly meeting on June 22, in the Administration and Conference Center Building on the St. Thomas Campus, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new Master of Arts in Social Work degree Program and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree Program. Both degrees will be administered in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences under the leadership of Dr. Kimarie Engerman, who serves as dean of CLASS. read more
