April 22, 2019 - CNN political commentator, lawyer and former state legislator, Bakari Sellers will be the keynote speaker at the University of the Virgin Islands 2019 Commencement Ceremony. The University had selected MSNBC Television Host Joy-Anne Reid to give the keynote address, however; Reid discovered that she had a personal conflict and would be unable to participate in this year’s ceremonies. April 17, 2019 - The 2nd Annual Great Mangrove Cleanup held on Saturday, April 13, with the assistance of over 150 volunteers, witnessed a record 1,786 pounds of debris removed from mangrove shorelines in kayak-based and land-based cleanups of mangrove shorelines at the St. Thomas East End Reserves (STEER). January 23, 2019 - In a special session on Jan. 23, the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees approved policies and procedures to aide with the implementation of Act No. 8155, the Virgin Islands Higher Education Scholarship Program, which requires that financial aid be granted to residents of the Virgin Islands for post-secondary education at UVI.
