Activity on UVI's St. Croix Campus to Include Landing of Helicopters on Oct. 30

The University of the Virgin Islands is issuing an alert to the public that an activity planned for the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix on Tuesday, Oct. 30, will involve the landing of several helicopters on campus.

The helicopter landings and following demonstrations will be part of the First Annual Enrique "Kiki" Camarena Band Against Drugs Day activity from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 30. Some 600 St. Croix junior high school students are expected to spend the day on campus - from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be rescue boat and other exhibits on the campus grounds.

On hand to welcome the students will be the UVI Dance Squad and representatives from UVI's Health Services Office, the College Access Grant program, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the V.I. Police Department, Homeland Security, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the U.S. Coast Guard, V.I. Talentless Talents, the Department of Health, Cruzan Environmental Services, Grove Place Weed and Seed, the Office of Highway Safety and the Alcohol and Drug Prevention Committee.
