UVI Cancels Classes on Thursday, Aug. 29 Following the Passage of Hurricane Dorian; Essential Employees to Report to Work & Regular Employees to Report in at Noon

The University of the Virgin Islands has cancelled classes on both campuses following the passage of Hurricane Dorian.  Essential UVI employees are asked to report in at their regular time on Thursday, Aug. 29. Non-essential employees are asked to report in at noon. ­­

According to the National Hurricane Center’s 8 p.m. advisory, Hurricane Dorian was located at 19.2 north, 65.7 west with maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour moving at 13 miles per hour. There are no watches or warnings in effect for the US Virgin Islands.
