Research: Neurobehavioral, Alzheimer's; Schizophrenia; Teaching: A&P, Microbiology: Human Health; Pre-Health Advisor

Expertise

Behavioral neuropharmacologist with background in developmental neuroantomy, NMDA and GABAA receptor signaling, dysbindin-1 protein functions and periventricular white matter injury. Expertise in rodent behavioral testing, experience in microdialysis, microinjection, genotyping, polymerase chain reaction, with supplemental skills in cell culture, immunocytochemistry, heart perfusion, immunohistochemistry and post mortem tissue extraction. Strong written and oral communication skills, supervisory experience, and computer skills. Research interests are in neurodegenerative disease and mental health.

Teaching: Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level, both in person and online. Past courses - General Biology II, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Genetics (lab). Current - Microbiology (lab), Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Biology of Human Diseases.

As pre-health advisor, I assists students who are pursuing careers in the health field with their application and coursework at UVI.
