Minor in Spanish

Students pursuing any major may choose to pursue a minor in Spanish. The main goal of this minor is to increase students’ contact with Spanish thereby increasing their command of the language. Although it is not required, a study abroad experience in a Spanish speaking country is highly recommended.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the program, students minoring in Spanish will be able to:
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of Spanish
  • Demonstrate basic reading, writing and listening proficiency in Spanish
  • Demonstration basic speaking and converstaional proficiency in Spanish
  • Demonstrate competency in Spahish literature and Hispanic culture
