With summer just around the corner, the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is offering a variety of educational programs to keep students of all ages actively learning and expanding their skills throughout the summer. From youth summer camps to college prep courses, STEM programs, online and on-campus classes, there are many ways for students to get ahead this summer at UVI.  


Summer Sessions

For current UVI students, students coming home for the summer from other colleges/universities, or those wishing to start classes before the Fall, it is not too late to sign up for the second summer session, June 26 to July 31, 2025. UVI Online Degree Programs

For working adults and those who cannot attend classes on campus, UVI offers an online option with six programs currently available including associate, bachelor and master degrees. Areas of study include business management, accounting and criminal justice. Courses are 100 percent online and taught by experienced UVI faculty members. Designed for flexibility, the courses are eight weeks long with multiple start dates throughout the year. Remaining start dates for 2025 are August 6 and October 8. University Bound

Current high school students who have completed eighth grade or higher and are interested in attending college, are invited to apply for the University Bound summer program which prepares students for the expectations of college and life on campus. Activities include academic instruction, tutoring, college admissions counseling and recreational activities. The program is ideal for students who have academic ability, but who may not have the preparation, motivation or opportunity to realize or demonstrate their full potential. UVI CELL Summer Online Learning

Enhance your skills and earn your certificate in Data Analysis, Bookkeeping and Project Management this summer with virtual courses offered by UVI CELL. The deadline to register is June 5 for classes starting on June 2 and ending on June 27, 2025. For more information, call 340-693-1100 or email cell@uvi.edu.


Youth Moving-Making Workshop 

The Reichhold Center for the Arts is hosting its annual filmmaking workshop June 9 to July 26 for students ages 11-16. Through a series of tailored interactive activities, students learn the skills necessary to produce their own videos and digital content. This intense seven-week hands-on training experience is designed to motivate, educate and build practical skills in the field of digital film production culminating in a “Red Carpet Premiere” where students can exhibit their films to the community. Agriculture Career Exploration Summer Program 

UVI’s School of Agriculture will host the Agricultural Career Exploration Summer Program (ACE) at the University of the Virgin Islands Albert A. Sheen Campus, St. Croix, on July 12 -25, 2025. Designed for USVI students ages 12-17, ACE aims to bring awareness to various career pathways through activities in horticulture, biotechnology, animal science, food science, and other agriculture-related sectors. Additionally, students will stay in dormitories on campus and participate in various scheduled cultural and leadership workshops.

Island Explorers: UVI School of Agriculture Summer Camp 

Running from June 9 through July 11, 2025, the UVI School of Agriculture’s Cooperative Extension Service will host its 2025 Summer Program for children ages 5 to 14. Themed “Island Explorers: Growing Minds, Rooted in Culture,” this five-week day camp will be held at two locations: the Sunny Isle Baptist Church on St. Croix and the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas. Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Activities will include hiking and nature walks, career exploration, exploring our islands, exploring technology, workforce readiness, personal development, developing creativity, making healthy delicious snacks, and connecting with local culture, heritage, and agriculture. The registration fee is $350 per child, and space is limited. The application deadline is June 11, 2025. Applications may be picked up and dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at:

Entrepreneur Business Institute (EBI)

EBI is a free summer program  for high school students in grades 10-12, who are interested in entrepreneurship. Ninth graders who will be going to the 10th grade in the Fall will also be accepted.  Students will live on campus for 2 weeks, from July 6 to 19,  and will be provided the opportunity to enjoy a pre-college experience and learn about the advantages and challenges of entrepreneurship.  Students will engage in team exercises to improve their team building and project-management skills and will experience mentorship from successful business leaders and participate in interactive discussions about concept development and business ownership.   EBI is offered on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas.  Program participants will receive a  $250 minimum stipend.
