The University of the Virgin Islands Mental Health Awareness Training Program invites members of the UVI and Virgin Islands community to participate in an Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training Session on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Mental health affects everyone. This comprehensive training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and respond to common mental health challenges, including:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Substance Use Disorders

During the training, participants will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders, enabling them to provide initial support and connect individuals with appropriate resources.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid certification valid for three years.
