UVI to Host Virtual FAFSA Workshop for Students and Families on Oct. 8

October 07, 2026

The University of the Virgin Islands will host a virtual FAFSA workshop at noon Thursday, Oct. 8, to provide students and families with step-by-step assistance in completing the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The 2026-27 FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for available federal financial aid, including grants and loans, for fall 2026, spring 2027 and summer 2027, if applicable. With new tuition rates taking effect at UVI for the spring 2027 semester, students are encouraged to explore all financial aid opportunities for which they may be eligible.

During the workshop, UVI financial aid representatives will assist participants with completing the FAFSA, address common application issues, answer questions about the process and provide information about available financial aid opportunities. Participants will also learn about Satisfactory Academic Progress and its importance in maintaining financial aid eligibility.

Students with an outstanding UVI balance are especially encouraged to participate and learn about financial aid for which they may be eligible.
