The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Center for Marine and Environmental Studies (CMES), through its GRROE USVI Mangroves Program, in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR), invites the community to its final annual Great Mangrove Cleanup.

Since 2018, volunteers have helped remove over 26 tons of marine debris from mangrove ecosystems across the USVI. Last year, 88 volunteers collected an impressive 5,527 lbs. of debris at this very siteβ€”but there is still more to be done.

Community members are encouraged to participate, support environmental preservation efforts, and earn community service hours.
