The University of the Virgin Islands Association of Black Journalists (UVIABJ) student chapter is thrilled to announce its much-anticipated 5th Annual Journalism Summit and independent Film Showcase, taking place this weekend, April 24th–25th, in an engaging hybrid format.

This year’s theme, "The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword," promises to ignite inspiration, spark insightful conversations, and shine a spotlight on the vital role of communication in shaping society. The summit will also offer a platform for fresh perspectives, networking, and professional growth. Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to connect with leading professionals from across the Communication spectrum, including print and broadcast journalism, photography, film, music, politics, public relations, and more. This dynamic summit is organized by the  communication students of UVI, driven by a passion for shaping the future of media and storytelling.

Dr. Sharon Albert-Honore, Associate Professor of Communication, shared her enthusiasm for the event: “It is always a pleasure working with this talented group of students and guiding them as they bring this meaningful experience to life.”
