Dear UVI Family,
It is both an honor and a homecoming for me to welcome you to this edition of Bucs Life as I begin my service as Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the University of the Virgin Islands.
As a proud son of St. John, I understand firsthand the transformative power of education and the critical role UVI plays in shaping the future of our Territory. Throughout my career, I have witnessed how access to opportunity can change lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact. Returning home to serve this remarkable institution is a privilege and an opportunity to contribute to a mission that has long been close to my heart.
Institutional Advancement is about more than fundraising. It is about building meaningful relationships, fostering strategic partnerships, engaging alumni and friends, and creating opportunities that empower our students to thrive. Every scholarship awarded, every partnership established, and every act of generosity helps move UVI - and our community - forward.
In the weeks since joining the University, I have been inspired by the passion, talent, and dedication of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and community partners. Together, we are advancing a shared vision of excellence, innovation, and service. I look forward to strengthening these connections and expanding opportunities that support student success, workforce development, research, entrepreneurship, and the continued growth of our Territory.
