Honorary Degree Recepients

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) will recognize two distinguished Virgin Islands leaders with honorary degrees for their exemplary service, dedication and contributions to the territory at the University’s 2025 Commencement Ceremonies.

Doctor of Humane Leters
Brigadier General Sally F. Petty has devoted over 30 years to shaping future leaders as an educator and distinguished military officer in service to her country.

The Graduation Application Fee is $125.00.

Where do I order my Cap & Gown?

Prospective graduates should place orders with respective Campus Bookstore.
Including on-line graduates
Philantrophy Chords will be given by Institutional Advancements
Class Stoles, etc must be purchased separatedly at Campus Bookstore $30/each.

When is Commencement?

Thursday, May 15, 2025 (AAS Campus)
Friday, May 16, 2025  (OEK Campus)

Where will commencement be held?

Commencement will be held at the following locations:
- Under the Tent on the UVI Albert A. Sheen Campus, St. Croix, USVI
- Sports & Fitness Center on the Orville E. Kean Campus, St. Thomas, USVI

When is rehearsal for graduates?

Monday, May 12, 2025- Under the Tent - Albert A. Sheen Campus
Tuesday, May 13, 2025 - Elridge W.  Blake Sports & Fitness Center - Orville E. Kean Campus

When are tickets distributed?

Orville E. Kean Campus (St. Thomas)- May 14 & 15 2025 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the LaVerne E. Ragster Administration and Conference Center (ACC) 2nd Floor Conference Room.

Albert A. Sheen Campus (St. Croix)- May 12 and 13, 2025, REC 107 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

How many guest tickets will be issued to each graduate?

Each graduate will receive eight (8) tickets.

Will there be professional photographers taking pictures at Commencement?

Yes, professional photographers will be taking photos at the commencement ceremonies.  Please ask your commencement student advisor for information on the photograher that graduates can select, arrangements for the photoshoot and the cost of the photo packages.

For La’Monee Morris, this moment crowns an already stellar academic and leadership journey. A graduate of CAHS, Morris won the title of Miss CAHS and, more recently, was crowned Miss UVI 2024-2025.
