Description:
The Simulation Operations Specialist Training Course is designed to train interested individuals to function as Simulation Operations Specialist in medical education and training facilities. The Simulation Operations Specialist is "an individual whose primary role is the implementation and delivery of a simulation activity through the application of simulation technologies such as, computers, audio-visual, or networking technologies." (SSiH.org) This course provides hands-on training with the latest in high-fidelity manikins, virtual reality headsets, medium-fidelity manikins, simulators and task trainers. Breakfast and lunch provided. On-site parking.
Topics covered:
- Understand the technical skills needed to set up, break down and troubleshoot various modalities of simulators and simulation equipment including manikins and task trainers.
- Create fidelity and realism in the simulation using moulage, props, and other special effects.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and program manikins, based on the learning objectives and goals of the simulation.
- Implement simulation-based audio-visual needs to support debriefing and assessment for learners.
- Prepare the simulation operations specialist to become CHSOS certified through the society for simulation in healthcare.
- Familiarize with supply and inventory management.
