As part of its commitment to President Safiya George's ONE UVI vision and the University's GRAND Momentum Strategic Plan, the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) continues to strengthen integration across all academic affairs units while recognizing the contributions of faculty throughout the institution.
Under the leadership of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lora Bailey, UVI has advanced efforts to fully integrate all academic units, including the UVI Center for Excellence in Leadership and Learning (UVI CELL) and UVI Online. A key component of this work is ensuring that faculty members serving across all instructional and academic support areas are recognized for their achievements and contributions to student success, scholarship and service.
During a recognition ceremony held in May, UVI honored faculty members and researchers who demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and service. The ceremony also recognized the inaugural cohort of Provost's Fellows, whose work supports innovation, collaboration and academic excellence across the University.
"Recognizing the accomplishments of our faculty across every academic unit reflects the spirit of ONE UVI," said Dr. Bailey. "The outstanding work of these educators, researchers and leaders advances our mission and strengthens the University's impact throughout the Virgin Islands and beyond."

Award recipients were selected through a dean-led nomination process that evaluated faculty performance in teaching, research and service using standardized assessment criteria and annual performance reviews. Provost's Fellows were chosen through a competitive nomination and application process designed to identify faculty leaders who demonstrate excellence in instruction, innovation, student success and institutional leadership.
The recognition ceremony underscores UVI's ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration while advancing the University's strategic priorities through the ONE UVI framework.
