2020 Commencement Information (Update)

The University ceremony will be held virtually on Friday, December 11, 2020, at 1:00 p.m.  The virtual Ceremony will be held via Zoom to include confirmed student participants and live-streamed for public viewing.

Because the University is unable to host in-person ceremonies, all Class of 2020 graduates, who paid their graduation fee, will receive $75 from the CARES Act funding equivalent to the $75 graduation application fee paid (regardless if you choose to participate in the online event or not).   The University will provide additional updates under separate cover on when those monies will be returned.

Cap and Gown
Because there are still shipping delays and challenges impacting the mainland vendor to purchase academic regalia, students are not required to wear regalia during the December 11th online Ceremony.  Furthermore, because of the continuing surge in the public health crisis on the mainland, no regalia order can be accomplished at this stage as the expected arrival date will be in 2021, well after the conclusion of the planned December online ceremony.

Rehearsal: None

Degrees were mailed to students mailing addresses on file to those students who graduated in May 2020.  If you had a pending financial obligation to the University, your Diploma was not mailed.  Please make the necessary payment arrangement with the Cashier’s office to release your Diploma.

  • Only students who have met all graduation requirements can participate in the Commencement Ceremony. All undergraduate students must have completed all required classes in their major with a minimum grade of (C) and a cumulative 2.00 GPA.
  • All graduate students must have completed all required classes in their major with a minimum grade of (B) and a cumulative 3.00 GPA. As a graduate student, you are allowed a maximum of two (C) grades.
