Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph a signing ceremony commemorating the launch of a partnership agreement between the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) School of Agriculture (SOA) and H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) on Tortola, British Virgin Islands that will establish a combined degree program leading to Bachelor of Science Degrees in Agricultural Business, Agroecology, Animal Science, Aquaponics, and Horticulture. 

UVI and HLSCC will sign the articulation agreement at noon on Friday, Jan. 17, in the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.  

UVI President Dr. Safiya George, Interim Provost and UVI Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Kendra Harris, and UVI SOA Dean Dr. Usman Adamu will be on hand.  HLSCC President Dr. Richard Georges and HLSCC Vice President of Academics Dr. Ronald Bruto will attend this momentous occasion.  VI Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Louis E. Petersen and BVI Junior Minister of Agriculture Karl Dawson will be in attendance as well.  

The media is also invited to tour the SOA Agricultural Experiment Station’s research facilities at 10 a.m., just prior to the signing ceremony.
